Process Breakdown

Project Role: Art Direction & Senior Motion Designer

Formats: 16×9, designed for looping playback at conferences and events

This project focused on translating flat UI elements into a dynamic 3D motion experience designed for large-format, looping presentation.

The objective was to explore how 3D motion graphics could elevate a tech-driven brand while remaining aligned with the client’s existing visual system. The animation needed to feel progressive and dimensional without sacrificing clarity, usability, or brand familiarity, especially in an environment where viewers might enter the loop at any point.

Working from the existing UI language, interface elements were reinterpreted in 3D space. Depth, motion, and camera movement were used to add dimensionality while preserving hierarchy and legibility. The pacing and structure were designed specifically for continuous playback, allowing the piece to communicate key ideas without relying on a defined beginning or end.

Challenges & Solutions

Translating 2D UI Into a 3D Motion System

A primary challenge was reimagining a traditionally 2D interface within a fully 3D environment while maintaining clarity and brand consistency. The design needed to push beyond flat graphics without becoming abstract or confusing.

To address this, UI elements were selectively elevated into 3D. Depth, spatial separation, and controlled motion were used to enhance readability. Camera movement and transitions were designed to support orientation rather than spectacle, ensuring the interface remained intuitive even as it moved through space.

Designing for Continuous Looping Playback

Because the animation was intended to play on a loop at conferences, the structure needed to function without a clear start or finish.

The solution was a modular, cyclical motion system with smooth transitions and repeatable beats. This allowed viewers to engage with the content at any moment while maintaining a cohesive, polished presentation across extended playback.

Result

The final piece presents the client’s UI through a refined, dimensional motion system tailored for live event environments. By balancing depth, motion, and clarity, the animation expands the brand’s visual language while remaining functional, legible, and effective in a looping conference setting.
