SHIFT
Process Breakdown
Project Role: Art Direction & Senior Motion Designer
Formats: 16×9 (four-part animation series)
This project focused on art direction and motion execution across a four-part animation series designed to showcase SHIFT’s UI screens in a clear, engaging way.
The objective was to communicate the ease of use of the platform while highlighting key reasons to choose SHIFT. Each animation focused on a specific aspect of the UI, allowing the series to break down complex functionality into approachable, digestible moments.
Working within the existing brand system, the UI was refined and adapted for motion to improve clarity, hierarchy, and visual flow. The result is a cohesive set of animations that presents the interface as intuitive and user-friendly while staying aligned with SHIFT’s established design language.
Challenges & Solutions
Clarifying UI While Maintaining Brand Consistency
One of the primary challenges was simplifying the UI visuals to make them more intuitive in motion while staying consistent with SHIFT’s existing brand and interface design.
To address this, key UI elements were selectively emphasized, hierarchy and spacing were adjusted for motion, and transitions were designed to guide attention through each step. This improved clarity without drifting from the original design system.
Condensing Messaging Into Short-Form Animations
Another challenge was refining the script to fit within concise, one-minute animations across the series. The messaging needed to be clear, efficient, and consistent from one piece to the next.
Through multiple iterations, the scripts were streamlined to focus on essential actions and benefits. This ensured each animation delivered a focused message while contributing to a cohesive narrative across the full series.
Result
The final deliverables present SHIFT’s UI through a structured motion system that balances clarity, pacing, and brand consistency. By breaking the platform into four focused animations, the work delivers an accessible overview of the product while remaining flexible for marketing and sales use.
