Bevi

Process Breakdown

Project Role: Art Direction & Senior Motion Designer

Formats: 16×9, delivered in 1-minute, 30-second, and 15-second cutdowns for YouTube and internal office playback.

I was responsible for art direction and motion execution, guiding the project from early concept through final delivery while collaborating closely with the client and editorial team.

The objective was to communicate the environmental impact of plastic bottles while positioning the Bevi flavored water dispenser as a sustainable alternative. The work needed to show how Bevi machines could exist naturally across a range of real-world environments, including offices, warehouses, hotels, and gyms, while maintaining a clear, approachable tone suitable for marketing and sales contexts.

The visual system was designed to support multiple environments and editorial cutdowns, allowing the narrative to scale across durations without losing clarity or impact. For final delivery, I organized and handed off 3D assets and render passes to an editor, enabling efficient assembly of the 1-minute, 30-second, and 15-second versions.

Challenges & Solutions

Integrating Live-Action Footage Into 3D Environments

A primary challenge was integrating greenscreen footage of people into fully CG environments while maintaining realism and visual consistency.

To address this, environments were designed with lighting, scale, and camera perspective that complemented the live-action footage. Careful attention to light direction, shadow behavior, and depth allowed the live-action elements to sit naturally within the CG spaces rather than feeling composited on top.

Recreating Bevi’s Headquarters in 3D

Another challenge involved building a one-to-one digital replica of Bevi’s office for use within the film. Accuracy was critical to ensure the space felt authentic and recognizable.

Using Unreal Engine, I recreated the environment with close attention to layout, materials, and lighting behavior. This allowed for real-time iteration while maintaining a high level of realism consistent with the live-action footage and other CG environments.

Supporting Multiple Cutdowns Without Rebuilding

With multiple cutdowns required across a single aspect ratio, the motion system needed to remain flexible while preserving narrative clarity.

By designing modular scenes and transitions, the project could be efficiently re-edited into 1-minute, 30-second, and 15-second versions without sacrificing pacing or message. This approach supported both marketing and sales use cases while minimizing redundant work.

Result

The final deliverables present Bevi as a practical, sustainable alternative to bottled water through a flexible motion system that supports multiple environments and durations. The project balances environmental storytelling with polished, production-ready visuals, delivering assets suitable for marketing distribution and internal sales presentations.
